The First Editorial (psh, rant!) ..

Well, it seems this site is beginning to grow by leaps and bounds. Hits are increasing by the day, and what was once a small shrine with a few images and sprites .. Is now a full blown dedication to everyone's favorite werewolf! I really hate to say it (not really!), but this site has become the premiere place for Talbain related goods. Yet, I'm still trying to improve it! I thank everyone who has donated art, drawn art, just looked at the site, or loves Talbain for what he is .. The best damn fighting game character to date!

This being the first of a long run (hopefully) of editorials, I do not wish to simply touch upon one subject. Expect future editorials to revolve around the state of the world, video game industry, and anything else of importance.

So now, for the first time, I present you with a rant .. A rant about Capcom, and how they have neglected greatness. Darkstalkers, Vampire Savior, NightWarriors; whatever you wish to call it, is one of the best fighting games ever created. Superior even to the fabled Street Fighter series in my own opinion. Capcom is known to simply let it's best things waste away, collecting dust on their shelves. Granted, they have used Morrigan in both the CvS, and MvC series, but they've never even bothered to update her highly outdated sprites. What about the other characters, though? What about Sasquatch, Rikuo, Raptor, Demitri .. *gasp* need I even mention Talbain? Why have they not made it past the Darkstalkers series? They are great characters in their own rights, with respectable storylines, and looks. Most are far and ahead of what the Street Fighter series has to offer.

I can already hear it now, though .. "But most of the Darkstalkers are freaks! Why should they fight alongside Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and the rest!?" Hello! Blanka is a freak! The first freak! Look at Zangief's hairy chest! That is far from human! Yet they let Bulleta(BB Hood) and Morrigan fight alongside their high and mighty Ryu.

Now, before I get e-mails for bashing on Ryu .. I'm not. I respect the character, and his story. Talbain himself is an amped version of the man, except Capcom has expanded more on the "warrior" personality with my werewolf. Ryu is, and forever will be the man. If it were not for him, and the rest of the original Street Fighter cast, there probably would not have even been a Darkstalkers series.

So please, Capcom! If you are somehow reading this .. Bring back Darkstalkers! Bring back Talbain! The fans are there, at least in Japan.

Wow, that felt good to finally get off my chest. Instead of debating about it with my friends who do not respect the Darkstalkers series, and would rather see it wither away (like it is!). I have strong opinions about these set of games, especially about Talbain himself. He's a classic character in everyway possible, and I don't see why he has not been included in any other games. I understand his fanbase may not be as large as some of the female characters, but what fans he does have are devoted to the extreme! Just look at this, and try to tell me otherwise!

Well, I guess I made a hypocrite of myself. Said I would not touch upon one subject, yet here I am talking about the state of Darkstalkers.
