War With .. Everyone (or, WE'SA ALL GONNA' DIE!!) ..
Now, before I even begin this more-than-likely unread rant, I would like to clear up a few things. I will try my best to not support either side of an argument, and either come off as a blood-thirsty war-monger, or some pansy-ass liberal. Now, on with my useless point of views.
With the deadline fast approaching on a war with Iraq, I can't help but feel the need to ask .. Why in the fuck are we doing this? Why now? I remember the tragic events of 9/11, and then the anti-terrorism patriotism that over-took our country. Then, out of the blue .. Bush says we have to blow up Saddam. Okay ..
I know he's a bad man. I know he's done horrible things. I know he has tons of oil that America wants, and I know that a war would "help" the economy. Is it the answer, though? Personally .. No. War is never the answer. Look at the conflict in the Middle East as it is, it has got them nowhere.
Now America is pushing it's nose into their business again, when we should not have in the first place. We are not the World's Police, we should not be. I understand that the actions of others could cause harm to us, even if it was not the intention, but we are just pissing people off left and right now.
Frankly, I could do without all this bullshit. It's stressful and I am tired of hearing people talk about it, or ask my two cents. I suppose that is why I am writing this. To get the ideas off my head once and for all, and vent a little.
Would we be at this point if Gore had been elected in 2000? Probably not, but who knows what kind of things he would have done. We were damned if we do, damned if we don't with the two of them. In one case we had Bush, who we know would try to live up to his father's image. Something he is doing quite well at the moment. Then on the other hand we have Gore, who would have censored everything in existance if he could. Nothing good came of the 2000 elections, that's for damn sure.
Iraq hates us, North Korea hates us, half the godamn world hates us, and it's because we go pushing our nose in other people's business. In some cases we are trying to help, in others it was unnecessary. I love my country, I love living here, and the freedoms I enjoy. I do not like the fears that are being placed on our heads, however.
Ever since the events of 9/11 the government has tried it's best to keep us as paranoid as possible. In some cases it has worked, and in others, it has been nothing more than an inconvieance. It needs to stop.
Saddam should have been done away with in Desert Storm, now we're going back to clean up after ourselves. We're not making friends with anyone at the moment, we're simply making enemies, and that scares me even more.
We, just like people from other countries, are being labeled for what our governments are doing. Even if we do not support it. It's a sad thought, and one I don't like to think on. Simple-minded people blame all Arabians for what a few did. Not every Iraqi is anti-America. Some are just as scared of Saddam as we are.
I know now that peace will never be achieved in our world, at least not in my lifetime, and it saddens me greatly. I hope that the world will be safe for my children to grow up in. As the days go by it seems less, and less likely, however. We're pushing our limits with the World, and one day the world might push back. I hope that everything turns out for the best, and that this affair ends quickly, without much bloodshed. I pray for everyone involved, and those that will be.
Until the end of the World, I remain ..
